CDT is consider the gold standard in treatment and management of Lymphedema. This therapy utilizes five components: Skin care, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), Compression, Decongestive Exercise, and Education.

MLD is a gentle manual treatment technique used to stimulate the lymphatic system. This therapy is very useful in treating post operative swelling and is also found to have an analgesic effect.
